Hiking

We went for a short hike this morning. I haven't been hiking for quite a while because it is rattlesnake season and I became frightened of them having had so many around our home this year. Today we decided to brave it anyway. We didn't see any rattlesnakes. The hike was fun, but I'm out of shape for hiking and Del's left hip was giving him a lot of pain. After today we'll stick to walking on the roads until after he recovers from his total hip replacement surgery in November. His right total hip replacement a few years ago went really well so we are quite hopeful for the left.

We saw a cute, little horned toad and a colorful millipede. I didn't know some of them are striped. It was orange, yellow, and black. We saw a pair of eagles flying over an area where there was a nest a couple of years ago. It was fun to watch them soar above us.

I'd better get some sleep. Tomorrow begins another busy week. I'm thinking of all of our wonderful friends and family.

Many hugs to all of you!

These are thongs to me. Now they are flip flops in popular language. I saw a young woman with a rash on the top of her foot and I asked her if she had been wearing thongs. She looked at me as though I were from outer space! I recognized there had been a miscommunication by generation and language, and reworded my question using the words flip flops instead of thongs. She thought it was pretty funny that I thought she was wearing thongs on her feet. How silly.

Speaking of thongs in the current usage of the word, when I had underwear that did that I considered it a problem and threw them away! Now people wear them like that on purpose. How silly......
